Meeting time: We will meet biweekly at a time to be discussed at the first
class meeting, in addition to a support group Tuesday from 5:30-7:00.

From the Catalog: This practicum involves interviewing, observation,
clinical problem-solving, treatment planning, and intervention development,
individual therapy, group therapy, direct intervention, and indirect
intervention/consultation experiences relevant to the specific course to which
the practicum is attached. Students may be assigned to psychoeducational,
counseling and/or mental health centers for this experience. A minimum of 50
clock hours is required per practicum.
Grades: Final grades will be determined as follows:
Quality of practicum tasks and evaluation of
skills

Attendance and participation, Quality of log descriptions 50%
Practicum experiences for this course include:
Support Group: Students will take part in a support group offered
Tuesday evening. The group itself is confidential but
students should maintain a record of the events independent of personalities to
discuss general principles and issues relating to group therapy.
Practicum Journal: Students should keep a journal on a weekly basis
linking practicum activities and skills to material taught in this and other
MSAP courses. Journal entries should discuss general principles observed or
experienced but not contain confidential clinical information.
Practicum
Log and Forms:
Students will maintain a
log of all practicum contacts and work, using the clinical psychology option’s
practicum/internship log form and procedures. All work relevant to the practicum
should be logged, including attendance at training sessions, report writing,
participation in screenings, supervision and conferences with supervisors,
supervision time with Dr. Wattles, any other activities directly related to the
practicum. The program requires a minimum of 50 clock hours of relevant activity
at the practicum site. The log and three additional forms must be turned in at
the end of the semester and will become part of your permanent record:
