This site is for students interested in pursuing careers in veterinary medicine OR students interested in pursuing a career working with animals in a non-veterinary capacity. Examples of non-veterinary careers include working with humane societies, wildlife rehabilitators, wildlife conservation organizations (such as Department of Natural Resources), zoos, aquariums, animal trainers, and animal/pest removal businesses.

Click on the Veterinary Studies Advising link below to find out about preparing for Veterinary schools and non-veterinary jobs.

There is also a Veterinary Studies Internship (Biol 490) course in which you intern with a veterinary clinic, or a non-veterinary faciltity in which trained professionals work with animals (both domestic and wild).

Lastly, there is a very active Pre-Vet Club that hosts many activities each semester focused on animal education and care. You don't have to be Pre-Vet to be part of the club, you just have to like animals and want to learn about them.
