| 1st Club meeting, Sep 13th, 2022, 4pm, LSF 202. Click HERE for meeting minutes. Some students asked about opportunities to walk dogs, and help socialize them, at the Florence Area Humane Society (FAHS). There IS a program for doing this! Here is a flyer from FAHS.||
FAHS dog walk - Friday and Sunday from 4 - 5pm
Next Club meeting, Tues Sep 27th, 4pm, LSF 202. We will have guest speaker, Kathy McCoy, from FMU's Math dept., bring her service-dog-in-training, "Peace" come to the meeting. She will talk about what is involved in raising a puppy for possible service dog training. You can keep up with Peace's training, and training service dogs on her facebook page. Peace is adorable!
We will also decorate
our supply drive boxes for the Kind

Spring 2022 Club Activities:
1st Club meeting, Feb 1, 2022, LSF 202. Click HERE for meeting minutes.
Our first club activity is trash pickup and tour at FMU Freshwater Ecology Center on Friday March 4th from 3-5pm. I can help caravan some students. (have room for about 5), and if someone else is willing to car pool that would be great. You can also just drive yourself out there! We plan on checking for herps (reptiles/amphibians) with Annalena (club VP) from 3-4, and then get a tour of the center from 4-5pm, then head back to campus. Center located at 3742 N. Williston Rd.

Our next club meeting is Tuesday March 8th, 4pm LSF 202. Guest speaker is Kathy McCoy and her dog Edna. Kathy trains puppies for future selection as service dogs or therapy dogs.
| Club meeting Tuesday March 29th, 5pm (not normal time!), LSF 202. Guest speaker is Nicole Poston, DVM. She was an FMU student who went to vet school and now works at Animal Hospital of Kingstree. She gave a great talk to the club about 4 years ago.|
Our second activity of the semester, we are going to visit Black Creek Wildlife Center (BCWC) to get a tour and see wild animals that are being rehabilitated there. Friday from 1 - 4pm. They have deer, opossums, foxes, a bobcat, reptiles, raccoons, skunks, and a bunch of other cool animals. It¡¦s located at 4067 Camden HWY, Bishopville. It's about a 50 min drive from FMU. We can carpool, or drive yourself if you like. You can check out BCWC on facebook or YouTube. We plan to leave campus at 1 pm to get there by 2pm. Then get the tour and see animals until 4pm, then drive back to campus to be back by 5pm.
| Club meeting Tues March 12th, 4pm, LSF 202. Guest speaker, Tyler Wright, (herpetologist and former FMU student) is going to give demonstration on reptiles/amphibians.|

| Last club activity of the semester, and is it a big and fun one! We will host Pause 4 Paws on Friday April 22nd from 12 – 3pm on the UC lawn. The Florence Area Humane Society is going to bring puppies on campus for students and faculty to cuddle with to distress before final exams. This is always a very popular event on campus. We could use as many club members there as possible to help chaperone the event (and cuddle PUPPIES).||afasdfadfaf|
