Fall 2024 Club Activities

First Friday with the Pre-Vet Club! Fri Aug 23rd,Griffin Athletic Center. Come on out and meet and greet FMU students and let them know about our club and all that we do! There will be food trucks and games. Let's celebrate the end of the first week of classes. Click HERE for more info!

 



First Club meeting of semester! TUES Sep 3rd, 4pm, LSF 205 . Let's discuss what we'd like to do for activities this semester, such as guest speakers (and animal guests), and other events we'd like to host.

We had a great first meeting! Many thanks to Kathy McCoy for coming with Lacey and teaching us about training future service dogs through Canine Companions.

Spring 2024 Club Activities:

Club meeting: TUES Feb 13th, 4pm, LSF 205 . Guest speaker, The Animal Doctor of Florence, Dr. D'Angelo (DVM), AND former FMU student Casey Stone will talk about Veterinary Technician School. .

 


We had a great meeting a learned a lot about what it's like to work as a vet, and a veterinary technician. Thank you Dr. D'Angelo and Casey Stone!

Club Activity: The Pre-Vet Club is participating in the President's Bowl, Tue Feb 20th at the Lowrimore auditorium! The President's Bowl is a trivia-based competition against other student clubs.

Next Club Meetings & Guest speakers: Thur Mar 7th, 4pm LSF 205. Annalena Griffin, former VP of Pre-Vet Club, and now is in Vet school at UGA. Pizza party meeting!

Next Club Meetings & Guest speakers: Thur Mar 28th, 4pm LSF 205. Holly Sellers of
Black Creek Wildlife Center
is bringing wildlife ambassadors to talk about her mission to save, rehab, and release SC wildlife. (see pics below from previous visits from Holly and BCWC)

 
Next Club Meetings & Guest speakers: Thur Apr 11th, 4pm in LSF 205. Stephanie Moore and Morgan Soulantikas, of Lucky Dog Animal Rescue of Florence are coming to talk about their rescue's mission, AND volunteer opportunities.

 

Next Club Activity: Pause 4 Paws: Fri Apr 19th 12 - 3pm in the Fine Arts Breezeway. Come out and cuddle with puppies and kittens from the Florence Area Humane Society, to help de-stress before final exams! This is the club's biggest and cutest event each semester! See pics below from last semester's event.
