for students interested in careers
working with animals in a
non-veterinary capacity

Preparation during your undergraduate program for a career working with animals in a non-veterinary capacity.

Careers working with animals can include many things, including wildlife rehabilitation, humane societies, animal trainers, zookeepers, pet groomers, pet therapists, wildlife management (ex. Department of Natural Resourses), and many more. Your preparation for a career working with animals can take on a variety of methods. You will need to complete the same general education and science coursework requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Biology, but your education will also likely include Veterinary Studies Internships, where you volunteer with organizations to gain work experience working with animals in the real world. This education takes place outside of the classroom, and the best way to determine which career path suits you best.

You should schedule a meeting with the Veterinary Studies Advisor (see contact link above) to discuss your ideas and plans so that they can best guide you in this endeavor.

For further information please contact me! We can discuss these things and more.
